Introducing the Doctor
Dr. Amit Patel, MD is a dedicated primary care physician with more than 16 years of experience providing compassionate, patient-centered care. A North Mississippi native and graduate of Hernando High School, Dr. Patel is proud to serve the community where he grew up. He is committed to building lasting relationships with his patients through trust, open communication, and personalized care.
Dr. Patel earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), received his medical degree from the Medical University of Silesia, and completed his residency training at the University of Arkansas. After completing his medical training, he began his career in emergency medicine, where he spent five years caring for patients in fast-paced, high-acuity settings. This experience strengthened his clinical expertise and reinforced the importance of providing compassionate, timely care during some of life’s most critical moments.
In 2018, Dr. Patel transitioned to primary care when he joined Patel Family Medical in Coldwater, Mississippi. There, he focused on building long-term relationships with patients and helping families achieve better health through preventive care, chronic disease management, and personalized treatment plans. In 2026, he expanded his practice by opening a second Patel Family Medical location in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Returning closer to home has been especially meaningful to Dr. Patel, as it allows him to provide healthcare to the community where he was raised and to care for many of the families who have shaped his life.
Fluent in English, Gujarati, and Hindi, Dr. Patel enjoys caring for patients from diverse backgrounds and strives to ensure every individual feels heard, informed, and confident in their healthcare decisions.
Outside of the office, Dr. Patel enjoys spending quality time with his family. His deep roots in North Mississippi and genuine passion for caring for others continue to inspire his commitment to providing exceptional, personalized care to every patient he serves.
